国际日之开拓视野
海嘉一年一度的国际日一直广受海嘉大社区期待和欢迎。尽管下着淅淅沥沥的小雨,家长、学生和老师的热情依旧不减。同往年一样,每一个班级都会选择一个主题国家,学生们在老师的带领下对主题国家进行学习和探索,不但丰富了自己的知识,更是增长了见识,开拓了自己的国际视野。除了常见的国家外,今年孩子们还开心地了解到了一些特别的国家,比如列支敦士登、阿曼、牙买加和尼日利亚等。
With pageantry typical of BIBA Elementary School International Day, Friday began with a flood of shirts and flags from countries across continents. From Oman to Italy and Asia to Africa, the variety of foods, dress, and activity left one feeling transported on a hyper-speed trip around the world.
国际日之畅游世界
通过到不同班级参观学习,孩子们仿佛被邀请去另一个国家旅游一般,他们通过讲故事、演讲展示、游戏活动、音乐舞蹈、手工折纸等各种方式探索和了解这个原本陌生的国度。孩子们不出海嘉校门,便可自在畅游世界。穿着主题国家服饰,亲手画出主题国家代表动物,用鸡蛋做俄罗斯套娃,菲律宾特色游戏,印度舞蹈等各种有趣的活动真正实现了让孩子们在兴趣中学习新知识。
Each class took on the personality, dress, customs, and especially the food from each country to create a rich celebration for the BIBA community to enjoy. Busy parents prepared food and festivities while teachers in the classroom were busy setting up games, activities, and musical displays from their homeroom country. Some examples from the activities for the day included the Philippines where students learned games. In Russia the students were given an opportunity to make their own “nesting doll” using an egg.
国际日之各国美食盛宴
除了各种新奇的尝试,国际日的美食也一直是孩子们的最爱。当天体育馆内热闹非凡,家长大显神通,把各国美食带到海嘉体育馆给孩子们品尝,饺子、蛋糕、沙拉三明治、玉米粉薄烙饼、水果、果汁等各种食物也使得孩子们的体验更加真实愉快。西班牙班级甚至请来了专业的西班牙舞者为大家助兴。
As parents and teachers ushered students from station to station, each doorway served as a portal into another world. Jamaica (KGJ) was alive with rich music. India was dazzling with traditional dance. Many teachers led the students in culturally rich activities while some invited special presenters and performers to class. In every case, students learned something about the continent and country they visited in every classroom.

国际日之世界杯足球赛
在大家享受美食后,体育馆又变成了1-5年级孩子们举办“世界杯足球赛”的场地。为了今天的决赛,学生已经在本周组织了几轮预赛。不同于以往小豹子们代表海嘉学校而战,这次他们为自己班级代表的巴西队、阿根廷队、意大利队等加油助威,也向各位家长展示了自己高超的竞技水平和体育精神。
When people had enjoyed their fill of the delicious cuisine, the gym was transformed into 3 indoor courts for the culminating activity, the World Cup Finals Football matches for grades 1-5. Teams had played preliminary matches throughout the week to lead up to this momentous event. Each team played for the pride of their school, their classroom, and the country they represented. Instead of chants for BIBA, BIBA, BIBA, they were replaced with Brazil, Argentina, and Italy, a few of the teams to play in the finals. The students exhibited great athleticism and competitive spirit, but most importantly, great sportsmanship in the final event.

国际日之多元共融
旨在培养孩子成为具有国际心的双语使者,海嘉学校以广博的胸怀和开放的文化汇聚了来自二十多个国家的教职工。对海嘉来说,国际日也不仅只是一天的庆祝活动,海嘉的学生们每天都有机会接触和体验多元文化,帮助孩子在多元共融的文化氛围中学习和生活。
This was a truly international celebration which highlighted the global-mindedness of the BIBA community, staff, students and families. It was evident that we are part of One World, One School, One Family.

“The students were engaged in a variety of educational activities that exposed them to different cultures, music, dances and stories. It was a very dynamic experience I think not only for the students but also for the teachers who were escorting them to different classrooms. I also found it very exciting to see all the kids’ faces light up when they learned an interesting fact or got to engaged in an activity like a game that the native children of that country would engage in. There were hands-on activities that the students were involved in. It was just all-around a great experience for everyone, and seeing that for some of the older kids, they got to teach the younger kids these things, so when we talk about our mission and vision as a school, I’m just excited to see the high-level of interest, engagement and rigor that our children exhibited on this day.
